Sustainability Assessment (Local Governments)
The world population increasing each year and lives concentrated in cities increase greenhouse gas emissions and negatively affect climate change.
With the impact of rapid urbanization, unplanned and distorted urbanization, an increase in slums, lack of infrastructure and lack of basic services increasingly cause social, environmental and economic challenges. According to research, urban settlements are responsible for up to 70% of greenhouse gases.
To reduce these impacts, the 11th of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals published by the United Nations in 2015 refers to "Sustainable Cities and Communities". Accordingly, the aim is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The role of local units and cities is decisive in the sustainable development of countries. In this framework, the social, environmental and economic sustainability of cities is among the fundamental policy areas of both central and local governments.

Sustainability Assessment (Local Governments)
Not only municipalities, but also local public organizations involved in local government, civil society organizations and naturally the institutions and organizations that are the local representatives of the central national administration play a role in cities having sustainable social, environmental and economic strength.
Local government units, civil society representatives and local branches of central government must structure decision-making processes, clarify areas of responsibility, create action plans and plan resources in line with a common vision within the framework of a participatory governance approach aligned with sustainable development goals. With the assessment methodology developed by CGE Evaluation, the aim is to manage cities in alignment with sustainable development goals through a participatory approach.
